The trio formed by Nuno Rebelo, Ulrich Mitzlaff and Marco Franco presents itself in concert the first time. All members of the trio worked previously together in different constellations and various occasions. One can expect from this trio a meeting that synthesizes all kind of expressive sonar relations by divers criteria of free improvisation, distinguished elements of free jazz, experimentalism and contemporary erudite music.
The music reveals complex affirmations conceived by strong dynamics and extended techniques in contrast to free spaces, paused silences and situations modelled very sensitively. These antagonistic elements form the basis for a language that surges by the instantaneity of the moment and that reminds us to works of painters from the “expressionism” or “Die Neuen Wilden”.
The ephemeral compositions created in real time reflect a constant interaction that covers abstract sonic transfigurations about those we apparently might think they would be totally impossible to join the flow of a musical discourse. But nothing is excluded, everything is possible starting from imagination that certainly will very much surprise, – just as free music.
