Bartók World Competition 2018 – Composition

Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music Budapest:

Announced on 12th of March 2018, the first edition of the Bartók World Competiton of Composition is open for talented composers who are aged 40 or under to submit works for solo piano. The main jury consists of five members, one of them being the Head of Composition Department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music who works with four other international acclaimed and competent authority on composing. The entries will be selected by a pre-jury consisting of five teachers of Composition Department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.

The deadline for submission  is 31st of August 2018. The award-winning works are expected to be chosen by 15 October and will be performed at the final Gala Concert on the 25th of November 2018 in the Grand Hall of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music by esteemed Hungarian performers such as János Balázs, Balázs Fülei and Dénes Várjon.

The winning composers will be awarded the first prize of 5000 EUR, the second prize is 3000 EUR and the third prize is 2000 EUR.
